"Hope and A Future" - A Celebration of Haïti

Community2Community (C2C), presents its 4th annual “Hope and A Future” – A Celebration of Haïti”, an inspirational, cultural experience that explores the beauty and richness of Haitian culture at the Christian Cultural Center (CCC) Campus, 12020 Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.  Doors open at 12pm. 

 

Sponsored by the Christian Cultural Center, New York Daily News, WBLS FM/WLIB AM, New York Amsterdam News and AKILA WORKSONGS this year’s celebration will feature the C2C Ayiti Marché, (Haitian Open Market) with international and local artisans, and the premiere of "The Story of the Trees", a multimedia theatrical experience spotlighting the initiatives of the C2C Haïti Restoration and Transformation Pilot Project (HRTPP). The cast of artists include international Haitian musician BélO, Haitian Jazz Ensemble Mozayik, Brooklyn dance troupe Francine E. Ott/The Walk, CCC Performing Arts Ministry and Haitian child prodigy, Mabou. This compelling story weaves music and culture to make a case for environmental protection and self-sufficiency. 

The “Ayiti Marché” (Haitian Kreyòl for Open Market) will bring local, national and international businesses and organizations together for a cultural exchange of information, services and products to the Caribbean and surrounding communities of the tri-state area. Attendees can partake in the taste and sounds of Haïti, while exploring Haïti’s rich artistic and cultural contributions through various vendors and exhibitors. Festive Haitian music, raffles, giveaways, etc will be occurring throughout.

 

Proceeds will help complete the C2C Water Initiative and promote environmental stabilization in Petit Goâve, Haïti.
